The Successful Action Model (SAM)

To be in the best shape prior to taking an action I need to have the most       powerful picture of my history in my mind, know and understand my most       important values, know how I can positively influence the system of                relationships I am at the centre of, understand the context within which I am operating and be clear about my goals.  With these building blocks in place in the right way I will increase my confidence for the action I am about to take.  Before taking action I will test my assumptions, consider the full range of possible actions and test my level of commitment to each of the possible actions.  As part of preparing naturally I will use a trusted advisor as sounding board, reality check and external observer.  Only after completing these steps will I take action.  After taking my action I will review my results, with my trusted advisor, with a bias towards the positives and use the review to feedback in to the building blocks for future actions.  SAM states that with the building blocks in place, a trusted advisor and a review process for your results then over time you will achieve extraordinary results, experience growth, recognition and a strong sense of fulfilment.  As a consequence more of your actions will be successful and you will do more of the things you want to do.
